Privacy policy

KaDo Poche is a free app, with no ads and no sign-up, published by Gilles Greiner (private individual). It is used to store your gift cards and loyalty cards on your phone.

In short

• No account, no sign-up, no e-mail needed to use the app.
• Your cards stay only on your phone. KaDo Poche has no server and sends them nowhere.
• No ads, no audience measurement, no tracking.
• The only information that reaches us is what you choose to send with “Nous écrire” (Write to us) or “Proposer une enseigne” (Suggest a store).

1. The cards you add

Gift cards and loyalty cards (store, number, PIN, balance, expiry date, card name) are stored only on your phone, in its secure storage (the iPhone keychain, or the equivalent on Android). They are never sent to the publisher or to a KaDo Poche server.

If you delete the app, these cards are erased from your phone.

2. The camera

The camera is only used to scan a card's barcode or QR code when you add it. No photo or video is saved or sent.

3. Checking the balance

When you tap “Vérifier” (Check), the app opens the store's official page (for example Leroy Merlin's or Carrefour's website) inside the app. To save you time, the card number and code are filled in on that page, then you confirm.

This information is then sent to the store, as if you had typed it yourself on its website. It is handled according to that store's privacy policy. The app then reads the balance shown on the page and copies it to your card, on your phone only.

4. Notifications

Expiry reminders (one month and one week before) are scheduled on your phone. They go through no server. You can turn them off in your phone's settings.

5. What you choose to send us

“Nous écrire” (Write to us)

If you write to us (from the app or with the website's contact form), we receive what you fill in: the subject, your message, your e-mail address (to reply to you), and depending on the app version, the app version and the type of device (“iPhone” or “Android”, never your phone number).

“Proposer une enseigne” (Suggest a store)

If you suggest a store, we receive: the store name, the type of card, the first 6 digits of the number and its length, the type of code (barcode or QR code), and, if you fill them in, the address of the balance page and a comment. Never the full number or the PIN. This submission is anonymous.

These submissions go through Google Forms (a Google service) and are stored in a Google Sheets spreadsheet that only the publisher can access. They are only used to reply to you and to add new stores to the app. They are never sold, shared or used for advertising.

Messages are kept for as long as needed to reply, then for at most 2 years.

6. Links to other websites

“Soutenir le projet” (Support the project) and “Noter l'application” (Rate the app) open external pages (donation page, App Store or Google Play), which have their own privacy policies. The information pages of the Infos tab open the KaDo Poche website, which uses no cookies and no audience measurement.

7. Children

KaDo Poche is not specifically aimed at children and does not knowingly collect data about them.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can ask to access, correct or delete the messages you sent us, with “Nous écrire” in the app (Infos → Nous écrire) or with the contact form.

You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its update date.
